Your donation matters to us

If you donate to St Peter & St James Hospice, your support helps us to continue to provide our hospice care free of charge to patients and their loved ones across Sussex.

Every single donation, whether large or small, has a direct impact and helps to fund our Inpatient Unit, our specialist community nursing teams, our Living Well Centre, our medical equipment, and all our support services that help both our patients and their loved ones.

This year it will cost us £6.9 million to deliver our services and we only receive a small percentage of our funding from the Government. We simply couldn’t do what we do without the support our community gives us.

Thank you for helping us to ensure we can be a safe, modern, sustainable hospice for generations to come.

One-off Donation

Every donation we receive can make a difference to our patients and their loved ones. We rely on our supporters to help deliver our services each year. We are incredibly grateful for your donation, thank you.

Other ways to give

Giving to St Peter & St James Hospice in memory of someone special is a thoughtful way to celebrate their life and by supporting the Hospice we will be able to continue to provide expert care to adults living with a life-limiting illness, and those close to them, in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Uckfield and everywhere in between.

Don’t forget to ask your employer if they offer a match funding scheme. Often companies offer their employees the opportunity to increase their fundraising efforts by matching all or some of the money they raise for charity.

Adopt a Donkey 1 Year Gift Pack £30

Dudley and Dylan, our resident donkeys, are a special part of the team here at St Peter & St James Hospice. They provide comfort and entertainment to everyone who visits and love coming up to the fence for a stroke and nuzzle. Often they are a much needed distraction, for children and adults alike, at what can be a challenging time.

By adopting a donkey for a year, you can help St Peter & St James Hospice to provide care and support to those living with life-limiting illness throughout our community, their carers, family and friends, and of course help keep our donkeys, fed and warm too.

Our memory tree is a beautiful way to display a personal and lasting tribute and is located in our hospice reception area. A heart can be engraved with the wording of your choice and displayed on the memory tree.

The cost of a personalised heart is £120 for one year, including engraving. Alternatively, you can pay in monthly instalments of £10. After this time, you can pay to display the heart for another year or have it sent to you as a keepsake.

To order a personalised heart please contact the fundraising team on the details below. Alternatively, you can also download the form by clicking the button below.

It costs £10,000 per day to cover the cost of our IPU ward, Community Nursing Team and other services at St Peter & St James Hospice. However, only 13% of our funding is provided by the Government.

Sponsor one of our rooms at St Peter & St James Hospice from £1,000 per month to help support patients with life-limiting illnesses and those close to them across Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Uckfield and surrounding areas.

Why Pay for a Day?

It costs over £6.9 million per year to run our Hospice and £11,200 per day to provide all of our care services, in the Community, our living well centre and on our Inpatient Unit. However, only a small percentage of our funding is provided by the Government. Your donation of £11,200 will pay for a whole day of hospice care, supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and those close to them across Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Uckfield and surrounding areas.

Terry shares with us why he choses to donate to us monthly and support our charity services.
When I think of that week and consider what it gave us, it just gave us a sense of peace. I would never have chosen to be parted from Jan, but if that was the way it had to be, this was the best way it could have happened, with her so comfortable and at peace, in beautiful surroundings, us with her the whole time, and welcomed and supported.
